Information Management/Microsoft Computer Application Specialist

This program is designed to prepare individuals for a Level I Analysts or higher position in a technology support workplace.

This program will begin in October of 2017 and again in February of 2018.  The course is 810 clock hours and approximately 6 months in length and will include 135 hours of on-the-job training.  Thereafter, it will begin each August and February.  Student learning outcomes and program outcomes include preparing students for the 21st Century work place in the career opportunity of their choice.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Competency testing will be required for each student along with the completion of a professional portfolio.  The professional portfolio will be developed to aid the student with the job seeking process and will be evaluated by members of the advisory committee.  Students will be required to pass one of four of the Microsoft Office Specialist exams and to sit  for the CompTIA A+ national exams to gain program certification.  Students will also be required to participate in a drug screen and background check before being permitted to participate in on-the-job training.

TUITION INFORMATION:

Course costs will provide for tuition, laptop, required text books, tool kit, on-line test prep resource, registration and testing fees.

INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY:

This course will be delivered via face-to-face instruction as well as through distance learning.  The student will have access to all campus labs and resources throughout the program during scheduled evening hours and on any regularly scheduled daytime institutional hours.
