  • Information Management/Microsoft Computer Application Specialist

This program will begin in July and again in January each year.  The course is 675 clock hours and approximately 6 months in length. Student learning outcomes and program outcomes include preparing students for the 21st Century work place in the career opportunity of their choice.

Application Process: Students must submit the Garnet Career Center application and the application fee to the main office along with the required documentation (high school diploma/transcript or GED/TASC transcript; Driver's License/photo ID; Proof of Insurance).

Entrance Testing: Students must take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) before being admitted to the program. Students must meet a minimum score in order to be admitted. Test is scheduled with the Adult Counselor.


Competency testing will be required for each student along with the completion of a professional portfolio.  The professional portfolio will be developed to aid the student with the job seeking process and will be evaluated by members of the advisory committee.  Students will be required to pass one of four of the Microsoft Office Specialist exams to gain program certification.  Students will also be required to participate in a drug screen and background check before completing the program.


Course costs will provide for tuition,  required text books, registration & application, drug test fee.


This course will be delivered via face-to-face classroom instruction.  The student will have access to all campus labs and resources throughout the program during regularly scheduled daytime institutional hours.
