Phlebotomy Info Sheet January 2019


A phlebotomist is a medical technician who draws blood for analysis.



  • Copy of High School Diploma or GED & copy of Photo I.D.
  • $30 non-refundable Entrance Exam fee
  • Entrance Exam – TABE Test (Reading and Math)
  • Agreement to submit to a drug screen and criminal background check before clinical experience.
  • $200 seat deposit must be paid no later than December 21, 2018

Entrance Exam Date:  December 4, 2018 @10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Testing Fee - $30.00 (non refundable)

Deadline to register:  December 21, 2018

Class Starts: January 7, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.

Class meets:  Two nights a week, Mondays/Wednesdays – Approximately 12 weeks – 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

174 hours including clinical hours/Daytime hours may be required for the clinical experience.

Entrance Exam:

Photo ID required to be admitted into test, receipt from exam payment, #2 pencils and a calculator.

Special Note:

Admission to the Phlebotomy class is based on test results as compared to other candidate’s courses.  If accepted, the instructor will conduct interviews to clarify requirements of the course.

Available to those who qualify.   FASFA must be completed for 2019-2020 school year at

The Financial Aid Specialist is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the main office.

Part Time financial aid funding is allotted to the fall class and the spring class, divided equally among all eligible students. Financial aid available will not/ may not cover all program costs.

A Payment Plan will be set up for students to pay amounts of program costs not covered by the HEAPs Grant Financial Aid
